Building A Better Community Week 2007
Build A Better Community Week began six years ago as a way of thanking our local firefighters fand providing a fun way for the community to interact with our firefighters in light of the 9/11 crisis. This year the socials were held at the Phipps Plaza and Morris Mill firehouses. Partnering with the Georgia Council for Highway Safety who provided car seat checks, the socials attracted more than 75 moms, teachers and kids including many Junior League members to the fire stations for ice cream sundaes, face painting and crafts. JLA members were also encouraged to donate blood to the American Red Cross blood donor centers during Build A Better Community Week.
